Illinois junior point guard Ayo Dosunmu announced Tuesday on ESPN's "The Jump" that he is declaring for 2021 NBA Draft and hiring an agent.

Dosunmu, 21, was a consensus All-American and the recipient of the 2021 Bob Cousy Award, which is presented to the nation's top point guard.

The prospect of being selected in the 2021 NBA Draft on July 29 serves as a motivating factor for Dosunmu, who entered last year's draft without an agent before announcing he would return.

"It's going to mean the world to me," Dosunmu said on 'The Jump' on Tuesday. "We put so much work in. I'm excited to tell you guys, tell the world, that I'm entering my name in the draft. ... To know that July 29 that my dream will come true, it fuels me each and every day to get better and keep working."

"For all you have done for Illinois Basketball, Thank You Ayo," Illinois posted Tuesday on its official Twitter account.

The 6-foot-5 Dosunmu averaged 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 28 games (26 starts) this season. He shot 39.0 percent from 3-point range for Illinois, which captured the Big Ten Conference tournament title and the school's first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament since 2005.
